Cons: Mapping frequently wrong, no mapping updates, software full of glitches where pages lock up, display fails to fully refresh which leaves remnants of last function on screen. Alpine and NAVTEQ do not support this product.
Summary: If you already own an Alpine IVA-W205, adding a Blackbird is nice because it eliminates the need to hang external GPS's from your windshield. It takes a lot more effort using a Blackbird to get to a destination than when using a TomTom or Garmin. Many times I will try to enter in an address with the Blackbird and it just won't take. I tried typing in address for a store where the address was on Coral Way in Miami.
Summary: My alpine Blackbird B200 just quit working. I have NEVER dropped nor spilled anything onto it. I thought the rechargable battery needed to be replaced. So I bought an extra one. Well this unit is completely dead. So now I called Alpine, they will not warranty the unit if it is purchased on ebay. They will only warranty the product if it is purchased through reputable dealer. What a bunch of thief, This unit cost me $600.00 when it came out.
