Summary: I give it 2 thumbs up its cheaper then buying a "GARMIN" brand. and works just as well as the stock mount I ended up getting 2 one for my work vehicle and one for my personal ride.
Pros: As for my business I am on the road 6 out of 8 hours of the day. I do over 500 miles a week. I wanted something that was easy to get to with my Garmin gps, Its has its good and its bads. The 8in offset to where i can mount it right under the rear view mirror, making it easier to make adjustments to the route that i am on at the time.
Cons: It wiggles and makes viewing some times hard while driving.
Summary: If your driving on very smooth roads, in a very smooth riding car, this might be an ok mount, but the slightest bumps will make this thing shake like crazy.
Pros: The suction cup is very strong. Allows you to mount the GPS unit in nice places because it has a very sturdy "snake" mounting.
Cons: The GPS wobbles and shakes around alot while driving which is pretty distracting. Its pretty hard to avoid since this mount is pretty long.. If it didn't move around so much it would be excellent.
Summary: Got this a little while back for my NEW Garmin 2598 LMT that has never worked right since it bought it in January this year, But the couple of times it did work I used this Arkon GN042, if you bend it a bit further down than actually needed on the dash then mount your garmin you will not get any vibration I also fold a small duster and put it under my Garmin, Perfect job well worth the price, shame nobody in England sellers them at a reasonable price, voted up.
Summary: I have a Renault Scenic where the screen is some distance from me and the dashboard top is also some distance away and grainy. Apart from the screen there is nowhere to attach the satnav and the friction mounts for use on top of the dashboard would also have been too distant. I tried an air vent mounted support but it was too low and would require me to take my eyes too far off the road.
