15 March 2011
Conclusion: Tour Edge Exotics XCG-V Fairway Wood with Aldila Voodoo Shaft : Continually pushing engineering boundaries, Tour Edge is bringing the 4th generation Exotics fairway wood to market with the introduction of the highly-anticipated Exotics XCG-V series . The new V-series delivers a staggering combination of power and forgiveness thanks to new advancements in design. Setting a new standard in distance, the XCG-V s new titanium cup-face is 25% larger than previous models.
Summary: You really have try it for yourself, long and straight. Feels great coming off the face and has a nice trajectory. Have the 15 degree with Voodoo stiff....nice and easy to control. Previously had the old Callaway Steelhead III which I bombed but found it hard to control off the deck.
Summary: Bar none, the best FW Ive ever played. My old FW was a TaylorMade R7 ST and it was alright but when I put the XCG in my bag the TM wasnt getting back in. Ive struggled a bit with the R7 in regards to over-drawing, but with the Exotics the flight was LONG and straight as an arrow. The ball got airborne much easier and I couldnt be happier using it. The feel is especially pleasing with the Graphite Design shaft. You have to try this club to believe it.
