Summary: Like so many of the others who have written a review on these clubs... I am a fan. I golfed on and off over the years renting or barrowing clubs. I finally convinced my wife I needed a hobby. I was determined to find something to do with my time and get some outside air. Golf... But, I suck! Either way I started making a list of exactly what I wanted to achieve. I don't want to be a pro, I just want to hang with my friends, drink some beers and have some fun.
Summary: Plus: Price! Irons, Wedges, Hybrids, the putter. Have played with these for a short year, and find it a good beginners set. The irons are suprisngly good to play with. My fav is the wedges. I have played good on the green with the putter. Even these days, I am bringing this putter AND my Odyssey White Ice... Minus: The bag. It does it's job and is lightweight. Looks and feels a bit cheap. MAybe because it is? Woods - these are actually not too easy to hit perfect with.
Summary: I decided to start over with a complete set of new clubs since my existing ones were a mish mash collection of misfit clubs with variying reaction play. I have only had them since last season but so far, I am fairly happy with them. I think for the money, the grips should be more durable and the bag constucted stronger. I can see where the seem is starting to spread open a bit at some high stess parts.
Summary: excellent product for golf beginners; have been able to hit straight on course with the driver. The putter needs getting used to (maybe its just my skills and not the club). This set doesn't have a 5 Iron but a hybrid and that works out even better on 150+ yards play. Sand Wedge is a must have for shorter yard play and better to buy XL5000 vs other set from Top Flite that doesn't include SW & PW.
Summary: Played these balls today was very pleased. The ball stopped quickly ( a few inches at most from the ball mark ) on a 7 iron shot. Full wedge shots within an inch or two. The ball putted and chipped will. Good consitent distance with my irons, and low price make this the ball for me.
Summary: Top Flite it's a second brand of Callaway. The set are really nice for his value. I started golfing 8 months ago with a Texan Set (most cheaper of the market). When I advanced taking golf lesson I noted that I need more strong irons and wood. Top Flite XL meet this objective. The hibrids are great. Please note that this set don't include irons 3 to 5. Start on iron 6. There are replced by the irons. Putter it's great. Driver it's a little flexible for me play..
Summary: This is an average ball, but, an improvement over the XL 3000. This is one of those balls you don't mind losing in the lake, because it's about $1.00 a ball. There were a few positives about this ball: It does fly straight. It is long (many drives over 265 yards). It stuck the greens better than I thought due to it's 8,203RPM spin rate. Negative wise: I can't stand the sound of this ball off the driver. It sounds like a high pitched squeal, common with cheap balls.
