Summary: I am 67 years old and I have gone the the process of may drivers of every manufacturer out there. I have graduated from stiff, to regular, and now senior going from a 6 handicap to a 16-18. I have struggled for about 2 years with multiple drivers to fit my swing from aging.
Summary: I have played Taylormade products for years and have always managed to purchase the newer technology after market introduction to save some serious cash. The R9 driver performs as advertised providing you are well versed in the adjustment variables.
Summary: I bought this for my step-son who is an avid golfer and he is very satisfied with the R9 performance which makes him a better golfer. He says he recommends this to someone who is looking for a driver.
Summary: I went back and forth between this and the 460 version. A relative golf newbie, I thought the extra club head size of the 460 would be helpful. But after going with the standard model, I could not have made a better choice. First the look. Ok, we won't admit it, but it is important.
Summary: Purchased 2 R9 Tp 10.5 drivers w/ rsv6 shafts and picked up an rip 60r shaft. Club plays at 45". Put 1gm weights in all 3 ports. Then added lead tape at the extreme bottom/rear of club (below the rear weightport)...club is silly easy to hit straight and long and feels sweet...
Summary: A really effective design, for me anyway...it delivers, and up to now has not let me down, more fairways equals more fun golf...isnt that what we play for??
Pros: I have tried and disliked the Nike Str8 Fit adjustable driver...not because it didnt deliver, because it did, however the sound was really offputting.I prefer a club that sounds solid, with a nice crack into the ball, the TM R9 definitely delivers that. The head feels more stable than the Nike thr...
Cons: Nothing at this point...ask me in 6 months when my game has gone!!!
Summary: Never thought that just changing to a different club could make such a difference in my game. I am currently playing Callaway Big Bertha Cavity Back Irons (1999 version), I plan on checking out some of the advanced technology irons next to see if I can further improve my game.
Pros: The club is much lighter and easier to swing than my previous club, and has a very large sweet spot. It has helped me to be able to place my ball in scoring postions on the course more consistently, and has given me greater confidence when approaching hazards that require the ball to carry the haz...
Summary: I took a dainty gander at this club and found it's lines and sphere conducive to solid swing mechanics. A beauty, if you will. Smash factor is there coupled with pleasing to the ear eloquence. Suffice to say I enjoyed the resulting 300-yard hit.
