9.5* r7 Limited, stiff flex Matrix 5.5 shaft, rh

  • Summary: Bought the club based on positive reviews of current owners from several different sources. My swing speed is just south of 100 so I was a little concerned that the 9.5 loft would cause a push to the right. I've been using lofts from 10.5* to 12* and was having a tough time in the wind, couldn't tee the ball low enough to make a difference. Like with most golf clubs though, put the ball where you're supposed to on the clubface and it will go where it's supposed to.

Good Looking Driver!

  • Conclusion: I had this driver for quite some time with the stock Matrix Ozik X-Con 5.5, for a hard swinger like my self the driver shaft combo was a No-No! When I would really try and go after the ball I would balloon my drive, the ball would go so HIGH! I ended up re-shafting with a Mitsubishi Diamana Blue Board and it worked wonders. Driver wasn't too long, but pretty accurate. Bottom line stock shaft blows for hard swingers. But great looking driver overall.

  • Conclusion: When I hit the sweet spot, and stay within normal swing speed, this club is very nice. Good distance, and good feel. Not the longest, bur close when struck solidly. I've only had it on trial for a couple trips, so the just is still out. I'm slao trying out a Noke str8, so more will be determined as I proceed.

Forget the Hot knife on butter FEEL

noeldaof, The Greenskeeper
16 January 2009
  • Conclusion: Here's a nice looking driver that gives a player the real solid strike feedback. This has a "great solid feel" instead of the hot knife on butter like. My guess would be more of the 15 and below handicap performers or players would prefer its looks and feel. The 3.1 shaft torque in the Matrix Ozik and its overall performance as a standard shaft is something to be tried. It's a great driver!
