Excerpt: Purchase these irons a year ago, and used them for about 20 rounds, I have a set of Ping G5 also, and the Burners are the same as the Pings ( to me ) . Great price as well. I put over size grips and the ball strike is the same as the Pings. I have noticed that I'm getting about 10 more yards on the 5 iron with the burner. If you are looking for a good club, and not spend a lot of money, This is the club for sure....
Summary: I bought these clubs after a 15 year layoff from the game. I started playing with my old callaway copies and just couldn't get the feel I wanted. When I got my Taylormades it was like a revelation. I was longer at age 39 than I ever was in my early 20's. So far after 2 months, I've gone from low 100's to mid 80's. Don't get me wrong. These are not magic sticks that will improve your game overnight.
Summary: There's still some new models yet to arrive at stores until mid Feb/early March, but so far, this baby is the best.
Pros: This is an AWESOME driver. This driver stood way above the rest so far in 2009 at demos. It is the longest I hit. It's got a great feel and is very confident looking at address. It feels good through the whole swing. A nice boring trajectory. I love the new longer 49g shaft.
Cons: I can't think of a thing other than we all know they could sell this for $149 like last years model is now.
Excerpt: When I first hit the taylor made burner plus irons the first thing I noticed is how balanced they felt. I did notice an increase in the distance that I hit them. My average yardage increased by 15-20 yards a club. The A wedge has become my favorite club in my bag. It has proven to do more for me than my 60 degree, pitching wedge, or sand wedge combined.
