Summary: I,ve played Ping clubs for over 40 years. G5 are great clubs to hit, but the workmanship is not what I expect from Ping. I had 5 of the back balance weight come off. finally had the whole set done. My G5's spend more time in pings repair shop than they did in my bag. There service was soso, but had a none caring attitude. After 40 years I have Taylormades in my Bag.
Summary: , picked up a set of g5's a coupled of weeks ago at golf galaxy they were white dots, had them adjusted for my swing which came out to be blue dot.these clubs are just awesome, nice balance feel to them, between taking lessons and having these clubs i hope to really improve my iron game.
Summary: The Ping G5 driver is the best club in my bag. I bought my first one on the advice of my pro and after reading numerous reviews about how it straightened out many peoples drives and was very forgiving on mis-hits. I was not disappointed. In fact I was amazed at at how much better my drives were overall. After over 150 rounds that season I decided that was the only driver I would ever want so I bought another as a backup.
Summary: It is a great club, very forgiving and I would not trade it for anything now.... Price was very forgiving also.... I bought it new 2010 and was on sale due to other new models are already available like the g10 and g15....
Do not hesitate to go "Regular" in your golf shafts......
20 April 2011
Summary: I had a Ping G5 10.5* driver, but found the stiff shaft to be too unresponsive to my slower swing speed. Since I have regular shafts in my Ping irons, I decided to go to a regular shaft in my driver also. I found a G5 driver on eBay with a regular shaft, and had my first game with it over the weekend. I was absolutely incredible what a difference the regular shaft made to my distance and feel, without having any detrimental effect on my accuracy.
Summary: I started playing golf about a year ago. I was really having trouble with my 460cc 10.5 driver. I would either slice the ball or hit it with very little loft. I purchased the Ping 460cc with a 13.5 loft about two weeks ago and was amazed at the difference. The first day on the driving range I’m hitting 200 yards and no more ground balls. Maybe I’ll try the 10.5 again when I have more experience but for now I’m just enjoying the game.
Summary: This year, I found a set of used G5s (4-PW,) and figured I'd revisit Ping irons; I'm glad I did. From almost the first swing, I felt at home with these clubs. They are very forgiving and easy to hit consistently. I normally don't carry a 4-iron, but with this set I do. Some won't like the high trajectory of these irons. When it comes to the average golfer, I find it to be more advantageous than detrimental - especially with the 4 & 5 irons.
Summary: I have had my G5 Irons for 3 years now, and have, since day 1 felt like there couldnt be better feeling club out there. Im sure there are clubs out there that might technically out perform them, but for an 11 handicapper, they have given me the confidence that I need to step up and believe that I can put my ball just about anywhere I want to (with about 5 yards). Very consistant feel, Very forgiving, very strong, and well balanced club.
Summary: LOVE LOVE LOVE this club. I hit it anywhere from 225-190 depending on swing speed. Ive only been golfing 2 years and picked this up used in hopes of reaching par 5's in 2. i have done it a handful of times with this club, a few times from the rough. I cant work shots left or right real well, im a straight hitter. but i can intentionally hit a slice or draw with this and it works wonders.
