Excerpt: Let me first say I have always used a TaylorMade driver. I was looking for a simple driver without all the fancy adjustments. I purchased this club after hitting it in the launch monitor at Golf Smith. The next test was at my local driving range. After a couple of test swings, I was finally able to get a feel for this club. It has completley eliminated my slices. I have gained about 10-15 yds. off the tee. I am very looking forward to getting this club out on the course.
Summary: Excellent Driver. Good distance with 10.5 degree loft.--Seems like the face doesn't have the draw bias that the 12 degree has. This increases the chances of fading a little more than I would like. Nevertheless a good product.
Excerpt: Better feel, Better Weight, More consistent ball flight. Worth an investment especially at this price. Just watch your loft. If you hit a 10.5 degree now, I would suggest taking a degree lower, especially if you take it with the Ping shaft.
Summary: I spent well over 3 hrs. testing drivers looking to replace my gimmick driver. I won a driver from a company who claims they will improve your game. Crock! Finally decided to buy good equipment. I test "drove" a number of drivers, including a mizuno which I thought was the one that would work best with me. Wrong. Ping g20, dunno why I didn't try them sooner. I went with 10.5 and stiff shaft, I wasn't sure about that shaft but salesman knew his stuff. Good distance.
Summary: I just went down to Edwin Watts and purchased this driver for $399 including the headcover. That's a great deal as most drivers these days are over $500. I took it to the course and at first I was really fighting a hook. I wish this driver was adjustable like the other brands but it's not. Why would Ping not make an adjustable driver? That's just stupid. I was furious when I took the club back and found out that I only should have paid $299 for it.
Excerpt: Have been playing G10 for 3 years and decided to try the 20. Hit the 8.5 tour in store and put up some great numbers. Played a round with it this weekend and was all over the fairways with it. Couldn't control it like the G10. The 8.5 G20 launches higher than my 9 deg G10. When I did catch it on sweet spot was flying it about 280 w/ no roll. Extremely wet conditions, ball would be lying 1-2' from ball mark where it landed! Probably would be great once I get used to it.
Excerpt: The G20 has a huge face and provides a ton of confidence at address. The metallic gray crown is subtle sexy and the bottom graphics are best Ping has produced. I've played the G10, G5, Rapture V1 and V2 and the G20 is similar in performance. Long when hit on the screws, and inconsistent at times. The spin is lower than you'd expect from a game improvement driver. The feel is on the hard side, and the sound a loud crack. I find the face a bit to tall for my taste.
