Good performer where hybrids or fairway woods are too unpredictable
8 July 2011
Summary: Nice club. Some forgiveness but still will draw too much if you play a strong grip or have an inside-out swing. If find that it is a fairway finder on a tight tee shot if I don't swing too hard and play a neutral grip. Looks are nice from address although it is a little chunkier than a 3i would look. That added forgiveness has to come from somewhere - more perimeter weighting, lower and deep center-of-gravity.
Summary: Mizuno has done a great job with this club. Clean design, adequate forgiveness, 5 yards longer than standard 4 iron, and forged. If you are looking for a club to help at the 200 yd range, this may be your answer.
Summary: The Fli-Hi does exactly what Mizuno appears to have designed it to do; that is, fly higher than the MP series 3 & 4 irons that come standard in the set and with relative ease. With a larger clubhead, larger sweet spot and slightly wider sole and top line, the Fli-Hi promotes better contact with the ball and produces better results. Typical ball flight is higher than the 3 & 4 iron you will find in the set but not any further.
