Saving my game
3 September 2013
Summary: After 22 years without swinging a club with hundreds of medical treatments and surguries I tried hitting that white dimple ball again. My 14 handicap had disappeared and my old Big Bertha was as weak as me. I demo'd a Calloway driver to try on the range and I could hit the ball 200+ yards again. I bought the Diablo Octane at a great price from Golfsmith.com and I'm hooked again. In my retirement I've got something to look forward to and improve on.
Summary: I only use this at the driving range for the occasional Sunday out with friends. After getting used to the slightly longer shaft, this has been wonderful. I hit the ball noticeably straighter and a solid 30 yards further. I also go to the range more often because I enjoy it more now. If you're a duffer and occasional driving range guy like me I recommend Calloway. I got this model as a year old left over for about $100.00! If you can still find this club, BUY IT!
Summary: I like it. Feels good, swings good and is forgiving, which is really good for me. I like a long, straight, crushing drive down the middle and this driver does that for me. I have a fast strong swing and always hit long drives. This club does the trick for me.
Good club but I should not have ordered the stiff shaft
26 June 2013
Summary: The club is fine but I should not have ordered the stiff shaft. My current driver (an older model Cobra) is a stiff shaft and I thought that would work with the Diablo Octane. While I did get extra distance on some shots, my drives were too uneven. So I recently ordered a regular shaft 10-1/2 degree Octane driver.
Summary: This driver is a great bargain. I bought my brand new and even though it is 2 years old, I hit the ball extremely well with it. I am an average mid to higher handicap golfer. This club is a great bargain and good piece of equipment if you are looking for more forgiveness, and a few extra yards off the tee. It will take a little getting used to because the club shaft is 1 inch longer than standard drivers.
Summary: I was hitting a Cobra Titanium 8* driver before I started hitting this. Although I don't hit the driver as long as my old Cobra, I hit it much straighter. I can almost drop a line on the shot now because of the accuracy I have with this club. It's still over 250 off the tee and straight , which I will take over another 20-30 yards any day. Thanks so much for making my purchase so easy and for having this club available at such a great price. Brand new for under $100?
