Summary: I had 434 yds to the green ! Out comes my Great Big Bertha, some mentioned that's an old driver, being used by an old man, "college kids ,you know the type, they see the doctor when they have a hiccup or a sunburn" I hit the ball 336 yds Nothing but silence !!!!! Go Bertha ! You Big ______ !
Summary: The Alpha has lived up to the marketing hype and is good as ANY driver on the market and better than most. I keep the weight down and find it easy to get the ball in the air and if I tee the ball down can keep in low in the wind. The stock Mitsubshi staft is better than the average off the shelf and there was only a slight improvement in drives by changing to my best driver shaft. Adjustment available to get it dialed in for you.
Excerpt: This is my 1st review ever to write, because I have always believed you can only change the MOI so much that 1 driver is not much different from the one made 3 months ago. I was wrong, this is a GREAT driver!! I tired to kill the ball and swing fast at times and boy it was hard to slice the ball after making a few adjustments. MY LAST DRIVER EVER to buy again!!!
Excerpt: I have been playing for 30 odd years and carry a 9 handicap but play to a 12 + . Many injuries have effected my distance of the tee. I have played them all with Titleist being my last comparison . I got fitted and was about to leave when I SAID might as well try New Bertha and to my surprise bang I gained over 12 yards ,Great Job Callaway !!!!!!!!
Excerpt: Lighter and longer than my Callaway Extreme. I am hitting the ball straighter after I made the adjustments. Seems to launch lower than my extreme so I have aded about a degree of loft. This has gotten the launch conditions I wanted.
Excerpt: As an avid "hacker" I have tried many different products from a number of different manufacturers and I keep coming back to the Callaway line. It seems as if I have migrated throught the entire Callaway family of drivers starting with the X-hot and although I'm sure my issues are more "archer than arrow" the Big Bertha driver fits my swing the best.
