Excerpt: While the jury is still out, my initial impression not overly positive. I will continue to tinker with all the adjustments and hope for better performance. I had hoped the gravity core would be the answer to a more penetrating ball flight and more roll, but that has not been the case. I believe I have actually lost distance from my first generation TaylorMade RB.
Excerpt: I really wanted to like this driver but I couldn't get it to beat my current gamer for distance or that loft up driver either. When I first started hitting it I loved the tight dispersion pattern I was getting. The light shaft gave me good swing speed around 95. This driver is really forgiving, better than my current R1 driver, better sound too. I was hoping for more distance as I hit it at least 60 to 70 times in two different sessions.
Summary: The face on this club seems to promote consistancy, but be prepared to go up a loft and down a shaft stiffness while looking. The face itself seems to be hotter towards the bottom. Great if you'rea high ball hitter, but I would think about going up a loft from whatever you're used to (unless it's a Ping). Also be aware that the shafts are bore-thru. This increases the stiffness slightly and takes some action out of the tip.
Summary: I really liked the looks of it and the feel in the store. But after hitting it I couldn't develop a feel as the where the club head was during the swing. It felt like a baloon on a stick to me. Every shot I hit was too high to my liking. Most shots went straight, even when they weren't on the center of the face. It is easy to get careless when hitting a club this big. My mentality says " kill it you can't miss the ball with a club the size of a tennis racket".
