Excerpt: I have played PRO V-1 for years. Loved them. High ball flight which helps amateurs stop the ball quickly on the green. The new ball is longer because the trajectory is now lower. I was not impressed with the new ball.
Summary: Just ran out of my old ProV1s and bought some new 2009 ProV1s. I find the new ProV1s harder and do not compress as well on the driver and irons as the 2007 version of the ball. I was disappointed that there was such a difference as I loved the old ball.
Conclusion: I can't be the only person who shreds the covers on ProV1s can I? One full wedge or short iron, and the ball is done. Yes, my clubs are c-c, and no, this doesn't happen with TMade TP5, B330 or B330RX.
Summary: Too much spin. When I play these balls, they are nice off the tee, feel great on chips, and feel great on puttts, but on the full iron shots, these balls bounce BACKWARDS and loses me 3 feet on my approaches. That may not be much, but 3 footers aren't guaranteed; pros miss them sometimes.
Summary: The Pro V's are ok. Good distance and feel, but the ball's tradjectory is too low. My 8 iron looks like a 6 iron shot. I've stocked up on Titleist Professional's since they have been D/C'd. I'm also going to give the NXT Tour a try.
Summary: This new ball from Titleist is for very high swing speed players ONLY! At 105 compression, it is not easy to get the ball going unless you really smoke it. It's a little jumpy off the irons, but has a nice feel.
Summary: I'm a high handicap golfer who usually hits drives off the tee 210-230. The Titleist Pro V1 definitly will add 10-15 yards on a well hit drive. The problem I had with this ball was on the NON well hit drive (which unfortunitely happen frequently for me).
Summary: Bought a sleeve at the course pro shop to see what all the fuss is about. Guess you have to be around a 5 to scratch to appreciate this ball, especially at the price. Found nothing about the ball that excited me enough to buy more.
Summary: I had played the old professional for three years and hoped that these would be a suitable replacement with more distance. THe pro v1 is long but not very versatile as a performance ball. Compared to most premium balls, it is harder, flies higher and spins less.
