Conclusion: After a recent round of using this ball I was not satisfied with the performance it offered. Although it was pretty long. It feels firm, not mushy and not like a rock. The spin on full shots into the greens was not great. It took about five or six yards for it to stop on full wedges. This is probably due to the ionomer cover. Durability is only average, one ball would last maybe four or five holes.
Summary: Plain old white golf ball Been playing for 8 years. 9 iron carry distance is 150 yards 80's I got a sleeve at a Nike demo day to try Good distance and nice soft feel. The cover held up pretty well. Decent spin but not as much as I'd like. About the same as any other golf ball on the market quality wise Good distance and soft feel with decent amount of spin. Not enough spin for hard greens or for the better player. Ball holds up pretty well.
Summary: Like every golfer I'm trying to find the "perfect" ball for my game. The Vapor is a nice compromise but it is exactly that. Very good off the driver and great feel with the putter, it tends to lack on greenside control and fares average off the irons. Long and mid iron behavior is similar to most mid-range 3 pc balls but approach/wedge shots need compensation for a little roll. Chip shots check but still roll out.
Summary: I had high expectations for the Nike Vapor and so far it hasn't lived up to it. The best attribute is its feel off the putter-- similar to premium balls. Driver distance is good enough, and durability is above average. The downside is its lack of greenside manners. Almost feels like a muted rock ball off the wedges. I mainly play mid range balls (Hot Bite, Burner TP, E+) and my scores are higher with the Vapor balls.
Summary: Great Ball!!!!!!!! Nice long flight. Not alot slicing or hooking. I can get this ball to stick hitting the green with full irons or wedges and back up a couple of inches. Nothing like the pros but all that I need. This biggest thing I like about these is how well they last. I play alot of golf and say I shoot in the low 90s because I dont cheat.... This is a really good ball from somebody who knows alot about golf.
Summary: 90's Found the ball on the golf course, perfect condition. As someone with a swing speed in the high 70's-80, I need a ball that maximizes distance off the tee, but prefer a soft feel for wedges and putter. This ball seems to combine those two things, plus it seems to keep spin under control with the driver.
Conclusion: As with most golfers, I am searching for the ball that gives me the most "bang for the buck". I have played two rounds with the Nike One Vapor and I am extremely happy with how well it plays. Moderate short game spin, nice mid-firmness, and it does scuff with wedges, but not as bad as other Ionemer balls. I usually play the Bridgestone E6+ or Callaway Hot Bite Plus.
Summary: Nike says this is a three piece Ionomer blend. The ball is designed for amateurs with swing speeds of 80 and above. Nike says this ball is designed with forgiveness which tells me that its got reduced spin. Their specs indicate medium spin, or less with the driver and more with the short irons - a nice combination for golfers who need distance off the tee, but want to keep it in play and have a little feel for around the greens. I've been playing for about 10 years.
