Pros: Much faster throughput than Zyxel USG 50. IDP/ADP pulled 5 meg of bandwidth through USG50 and tech support did not have a fix. All other factors being equal, far superior device and I am pleased thus far. Fairly easy to configure and support is in place for ipv6. Updated to newest firmware and all is well.
Cons: None...at this time. The interface connection times-out, but that may be my settings.
Summary: I have been supporting SonicWall devices for many years. They are solidly reliable and easy to configure and manage. They have a great web portal interface for all management tasks and tech support when needed is first class.
Summary: I great firewall for people who want play with a real firewall. Also, it would be great for small time businesses or SOHO offices. I hope Dell turns SonicWALL around a little. IPv6 support would make me buy another one.
Pros: SonicWALL has a pretty cool interface. I love when firewall manufactures develop a web interface for management and not use Java for everything... 'cough, cough'. I have been using this device for about a month and its been stable. Object based firewalls are great and SonicWALL has it. Extremely easy to manage and updating is simple.
Cons: No IPv6 support. I spoke with SonicWALL and they stated they would support IPv6 soon; still haven't seen it. I was hoping for more Packet tracing tools with SonicWALL. I really miss Packet Tracer on Cisco devices; but not enough to keep purchasing them. Console access is not as good as I would like. VPN concentrator is garbage. Not a big fan of NetExtender.
Summary: Have been using SonicWall for years hopefully this isn't a design flaw in the new TZ105 series and the next one keeps working...
Pros: Newegg RMA is easy. newegg is sending a replacement as soon as they receive the defective unit.
Cons: Had this up and running for almost 2 weeks before it just died. Was plugged into a battery/surge backup. Plugged it directly into the wall and tried a power cord from another TZ105 and would not power up.
