  • Summary: every year now you have to pay around 100$ a year for a subscription fee. The price of the hardware will go down but you will have to pay a yearly subscription!
  • Pros: Offers QoS for stuff such as Phone lines that are VoIP or Remote Desktop users, Block unwanted content from being accessed, and filter spam and virus emails from coming into your emails inbox I got this bundle because it came with the 1yr sub for cheaper than if i were to go and get the code sepa...

Poor performance.

J.Bowling, Amazon
9 October 2013
  • Summary: If you have more than 3 or 4 users on this router, you are in for trouble. A 100 Mbps connection drops to 15 Mbps or less after making it's way through this router. Web connections will constantly drop and web pages become incredibly slow to load.

Fast Router, Great Price

LISA H., Newegg
2 May 2011
  • Summary: Our original Netgear router died after many years of reliable service. We used a FVS318 to make due until the new router arrived. This new router completely eliminated all speed complaints and silenced my constantly ringing phone for almost two weeks now. I am happy.
  • Pros: It was pretty easy to set it up with the wizards. 2 Gigabit WAN and 4 Gigabit LAN ports make for a really fast network with redundant (or load balanced) internet connections. So many features that I will probably never use them all.
  • Cons: I had issues with this not renewing the WAN IP address properly, so I had to configure the incoming BOOTP to accept the addresses that my ISP uses (it has to do with renewal requests being sent to a different IP than the incoming reply comes from).
