Summary: Was tempted to buy a cheaper shredder from a different manufacturer after becoming disillusioned with other Bosch power tools failing prematurely. However, after reading reviews, and advice from Freds shed, I bought the AXT 25D. It arrived promptly and I was initially concerned there was no paperwork with the equipment with respect to Amazon order or Bosch guarantee.
the manual is totally useless, it then would not work

Summary: Having finally managed to assemble it without it making a noise, the manual is totally useless, it then would not work. I eventually telephoned Bosch who said an engineer would call me. After three hours and no call. I went out. A week later I tried again but this time Bosch told me to return it. This cost me £42 as it is so big and heavy.

Summary: A fairly quiet machine which does a good job of reducing woody material to a much more manageable size, although some twigs need to be fed through a second time. Draws the material into the cutter very effectively.
Summary: Very disappointed, will not chop stems properly even when they are only half the size the machine is supposed to be able to cope with, when putting material into machine it has to be fed in singly and when it gets to green leaves it just chokes and churns them round the chopping rotor, only way to clear is to stop machine and remove box and tip machine to clear from the bottom of rotor, The machine will not operate unless the box is properly connected underneath and even...
I'm sure I have bought more useless stuff, but this has reached a new low

Summary: I'm sure I have bought more useless stuff, but this has reached a new low, anything green and blocks up and just takes so much extra time to do the most simplest of jobs. A complete waste of money, I would have been better going to my local Plant Hire Company to use a big more robust shredder.

Summary: very disappointed. It squashes rather than shreds and leaves long strips of unshredded material. Not a patch on my previous Bosch quiet shredder (screw mechanism) that has lasted for several years
Summary: I have found the shredder works well with both wet and dry timber. It works better with dry, but will cope with a mixture off branches and leaves. The mechanism is slightly tricky to set up so that it cuts the branches through. I got a lot of mostly severed branches when I first used it. It is quite easy to clear when it gets jammed, which is not very often.
Summary: Comes in a box with no obvious way to open although Bosch with typical German efficiency provide detailed instructions on how to open (ripping open the glues side if anyone interested) unfortunately you have to open box to get these instructions. This is a large and heavy piece of kit it isn't going to slip onto a shelf in the shed so make sure you have space!
Summary: I bought this to render garden waste suitable for composting in my own bin and it does an excellent job. Cuts down on need for bonfires and their environmental impact. Means I can dispose of all my garden waste in house instead of paying the council for a garden waste bin which would cost me over £50 p.a. Very good build quality.
