Summary: This machine is efficient but I've had two and the motor on both burnt out in less than 2 years. The batteries also started losing their charge very quickly holding it less than a day out of the charger. Ultimately, very poor value for money against buying one with a bigger motor that might last longer.
Summary: I bought this product based on the great reviews and to be honest when it's working, it is great. You don't have to worry about cutting through cables and it seems to tackle most bushes. However, the batteries are a pain! One out of the two is already broken and doesn't hold its power, even after a long charge. The second works fine just as long as it's used straight after charging. If you charge the battery then leave it for a few weeks, it is dead!
Utter Tosch - buy a longer cable and a safety cut-out instead

Summary: See also my review of the equivalent strimmer Bosch ART 23 Easytrim Accu Cordless 14.4 Volt NiCD Grass Trimmer (23 cm Cutting Diameter) - all makes sense from a safety and convenience point of view, but after a very short period of time the batteries either die totally or produce a couple of minutes of very feeble power which won't cut any self-respecting hedge.
Given the short life and ridiculous battery replacement cost (more than fifty quid each) you really should think twice

Summary: I can't believe how much Bosch want to charge for the replacement batteries for this (fifty quid). It is cheaper to buy the trimmer again, keep the two batteries and throw away the trimmer. I'm not going to do that though, since Ni-Cd is ancient and very limited technology, and I'm so annoyed with Bosch that I am not going to buy Bosch again. Instead, I have bought a LI trimmer for about the same price from elsewhere.
Summary: This is a good hedge trimmer for a season. In the second season the batteries loose at least half their charge life. By the third season the batteries only last seconds after a full charge. So, the tool appears cheap to purchase, but beware it only lasts for two years. You could of course purchase two replacement batteries but this would set you back over £100-00.
Summary: This was a great trimmer when I bought it two years ago. It coped superbly with the pyracantha hedge (60 foot) at the front of my property and even the coniferous hedge at the rear which can have very thick growth. However, by last year I was having to use both batteries to do the job a single one would have done. This year they're both completely dead and the batteries (where you can find them) are about £50 EACH for replacements!
