Summary: I toyed with getting a corded one- glad i didnt. Didn't have to buy an RCD or long extension lead- wouln't feel safe with a lead trailing about. This is light and easy to use. The battery lasts well. I used it for about 45 mins and it was still going strong. OH yes you get 2 batteries with this bundle ( they are not cheap- so i sold one on ebay!) Cut thro a thick hedge very easily. Happy.
Summary: Great weight and balance. I have found the battery pack does not last for more than about 20-25 minutes which is disappointing. It seems to lose its charge when left on the hedgecutter over night.
Summary: This machine is efficient but I've had two and the motor on both burnt out in less than 2 years. The batteries also started losing their charge very quickly holding it less than a day out of the charger. Ultimately, very poor value for money against buying one with a bigger motor that might last longer.
Summary: I bought this product based on the great reviews and to be honest when it's working, it is great. You don't have to worry about cutting through cables and it seems to tackle most bushes. However, the batteries are a pain! One out of the two is already broken and doesn't hold its power, even after a long charge. The second works fine just as long as it's used straight after charging. If you charge the battery then leave it for a few weeks, it is dead!
Summary: Bought this as the guy who normally cuts the grass and hedges no longer around. I have used it twice so far and my hedges 6ft high x 36ft long and have to do both sides and top and so far the battery has lasted both cuts. Excellent and the spare battery still in box. Highly recommended.
Utter Tosch - buy a longer cable and a safety cut-out instead

Summary: See also my review of the equivalent strimmer Bosch ART 23 Easytrim Accu Cordless 14.4 Volt NiCD Grass Trimmer (23 cm Cutting Diameter) - all makes sense from a safety and convenience point of view, but after a very short period of time the batteries either die totally or produce a couple of minutes of very feeble power which won't cut any self-respecting hedge.
Better than you'd think with a battery powered trimmer but the battery life is dire!

Summary: Review update May 2014: I still stand by what I said about the device, it works well. The batteries are a huge disappointment though. When I packed them away in autumn they would last the 20 mins needed to trim. However since using them again since April, the batteries are suffering 2 problems. Firstly, it takes the best part of 2 days to charge them fully. Secondly, if you leave them plugged into anything, they drain overnight.
Summary: I bought one of these about six years ago and found it very effective. It had plenty of power to cut through thickish stems and the battery lasted well. As the years rolled on, the batteries started to fade and did not last very long between charges. Two years ago, I looked around for some new batteries and found that I could buy a new hedgecutter with two new batteries for the price of two new batteries.
Summary: This works well and the batteries last quite a long time. But according to the instructions the charger cannot be left unattended; it will not switch itself off when the battery is charged. I have forgotten this and left it on charge for a 48 hours and the battery has survived, but it sounds as if I was lucky to get away with this.
