Another Mediocre X-Men Game...

  • Excerpt: * First of all, there is only one listing for "X-Men: Next Dimension" on this site, and it is placed under GameCube. However, though I doubt they will differ by very much, this review is written for the Playstation 2 version of the game. * I have to say, I am not crazy about head-to-head fighting games. I am also a huge fan of X-Men though. So I figured, "why not? I have a Playstation 2...I'll buy this game.
  • Pros: Many characters and environments to battle in
  • Cons: Becomes boring after so long, over - complicated moves

Great game? or missing X-factor?

  • Excerpt: grew up reading X-Men comic books so I bought this game without even a hint of what it would be like. X-Men: Next Dimension is a fairly solid fighting game for the GameCube. The controls will take time to get down. There are a lot of great mutant moves but it can take a while to get control before you really start to enjoy the play. The graphics are great with fluid movements in a 3D environment and the sound is effective. The character selection is awesome.
  • Pros: Good fighting game, nice graphics
  • Cons: Takes time to learn to play

  • Summary: X-men: next Dimension has got to be the worst game I have ever played.Being a fan of X-men and the Mutant Academy games I was expecting a brilliant playable game that I could enjoy on my own and with friends. What I got was completely different.I played this on my own at first and discovered that the controls were very confusing, after about 3 hours of trying to get used to the controls I gave up.Later I asked a friend round and we played it together and even they...

Has its flaws but is still a decent game especially for fans

  • Summary: This game didn't really have much publicity but I think it deserved some more after playing the game. But first lets deal with its flaws. The graphics aren't the best around and although the power moves look spectacular the characters themselves are not that detailed; their movement is not particularly special either. Also, the game is quite difficult (unless you have the cheats to turn enemy AI off (!)).

X-TRAORDINARY!

  • Summary: Let's start by saying that this is one of the hardest beat'em ups you'll find on the market.Featuring all your fave X-Men;Wolverine,Cyclops,Pheonix,Beast,Gambit,Storm,Rogue, as well as your fave X-Villains;Magneto,Mystique,Sabretooth,Juggernaut and Toad, the game certainly has an impressive choice of fighters. The game has a unique story mode (which allows you to change characters throughout completing your quest),as well as your standard arcade mode, team, time attack etc.
