Excerpt: "...Jet-Ski This is the sequel to Wave Race 64, which was on Nintendo’s last console, the N64. I never actually owned a N64, but from what I’ve read from other opinions, gameplay is basically the same, which means the first one must have been pretty short too. Modes include; Championship- Championship mode requires you to have the most points to win. To gain points you must race against 7 other CPU controlled racers for three laps. Of ...
Pros: 4 player races, good stunt mode, good cheat for dolphin mode
Cons: far too short levels, difficulty of certain task, crashing into things
Summary: Oh the hype! This is a hard game, especially for kids. Having said that, graphically its not bad- but it isn't ground breaking at all. The waves can get high, and controlling your vehicle is a skill that you will take a while mastering. Aspen Lake is particularly annoying! Put it this way, we took it back and got a refund! Waverace is probably a good game but none of us saw the hype realised. The magazinestell you that the "graphics are amazing" etc etc.
Summary: I bought this game in the hope that it would quash my Super Mario Kart habit until a 'cube version is released but I was wrong. The single player game can be quite fun, but the multiplayer is poor. Even on a widescreen TV it is very difficult to play when 3 or more players are involved as there is so much graphically going on in the background that it makes your quarter screen very congested (single player the graphics are excellent).
