Poor man's GTA is actually quite fun

  • Summary: True Crime owes a lot, if not everything, to the Grand Theft Auto series. Indeed it is very difficult these days to have a free-roaming action game and not compare it to GTA but True Crime is so alarmingly similar that I'm surprised Rockstar didn't try to sue. The story of True Crime is right out of a direct-to-video action film of the late 80s.

Just another average game

  • Summary: I really think that true crime is a very overrated game. It relies to much on guns and gore and forgets the most important thing in a game-the gameplay! It does have some good points though. Firslty the moves you can perform are often fun. Also, in places the storyline is good as well. But, with all the hype it has got, like people calling it the next GTA, it has not delivered. If something wants to be the next brilliant gangster game, it has to be better than this.

  • Summary: In True Crime Gamecube owners finally get the city roaming GTA type game we've wanted. The soundtrack tops GTA in my opinion, but you might not like it if you're not into that kind of Westside thug thang. Activision have genuinely tried hard here to add lots of new features but, I'm sorry to say, these don't work the way they should. 1.
