ROCKY

kingode, Ciao

  • Excerpt: "Rocky includes several modes of play, including exhibition, movie, sparring, and knockout tournament. The movie mode is the game's main single-player offering, and it starts you out as Rocky Balboa from the first film and allows you to progress through the story line of the entire five-movie franchise. Exhibition mode lets you square off against a computer opponent or a friend in a match that's just for fun. Sparring mode gives you a chance to practice ...

Eye Of The Tiger!!!

  • Summary: I've wanted to buy this for ages but had a feeling, like most Boxing games.. it would bore me to sleep after a day. Knockout Kings did that to me as it was so easy. Rocky however is awesome. The training is so challenging that I don't auto-train, i like to build Rocky up myself, the punches that Rocky swings are JUST like the way he swings them in the movies. Vicious body blows and quick cross jabs.

  • Excerpt: "...or even heard or the Rocky saga, then your should probably read the film opinions first, because you may not have a clue what I am talking about. If you haven’t seen the film, then you don’t really need this game, because there are other boxing games that are not based on the films, i.e. Ready2Rumble 2, and Knockout Kings 2003 or even Def Jam Vendetta. In 1976 a film was made that fast became one of the most popular films of that era ...
  • Pros: Based on a great film series, get to play as some fav's
  • Cons: Far too short, inaccuracies

You Gotta Love Boxing Games

A. Crowther "andycr15", amazon.co.uk
5 January 2003
  • Summary: True, it's not the most original game ever, it's not all that challenging, there's nothing all that special about it...but when you need to release some tension there is nothing better than beating several shades out of someone...legally. Although it may not be all those things listed about, the main thing for me is, there is nothing really wrong with it.

Ignore the guy above

Lakey, amazon.co.uk
30 December 2002
  • Summary: This game is great. Yes you will gain more pleasure from the title if you are a Rocky fan but there is far more depth to the title than the previous reviewer has let on. There are 3 difficulty levels. It is easy to finish the game on the easiest mode but this is worth doing to unlock the fighters for multiplayer. Yet there is still an incentive to compete the harder difficulty settings since there are more things to unlock.

Rocky - what more does every teenage boy want?

Dave Bishop "Dave Bishop", amazon.co.uk
28 December 2002
  • Summary: I loved the Rocky films, so the chance to play as Rocky through a game seemed like an opportunity not to be missed! Although people may complain its easy it is only easy if you want to play that way. Instead of random button bashing I found my knowledge of boxing meant I could subdue most opponents easily with a variety of combos and dodges. In the movie mode you start off as Rocky I then moe though each of the films until you fight Tommy Gunn outside Mighty Micks.

Little to no creedability...sorry Rocky

"woodylen", amazon.co.uk
20 December 2002
  • Summary: Rage seem to like doing big franchise name games. They certainly have their marketing heads screwed on pretty tightly. Firstly they made us endure David Beckhams soccer, which one has got to admit is a very mediocre football game. There latest outing Rocky. A boxing simulation/arcade game is somewhat similar. If I personify Rocky the game I could say that It has the jabs, the combos and the uppercut but just lacks that big right hook that can blow us away.
