It's an Alien World

clifford goldenberg, Amazon
28 August 2005
  • Summary: I personnally loved Pikmin. The lighting in the game was great. It wasn't too bright, or too dark. The graphics stood apart from the other Game Cube games to me. It was 3-D and had fairly large courses. Ultimatly, the best part of the game was dicovering a new "spiecies" of Pikmin, and then making millions of them to tag along. Overall, this game is five stars all the way.

EXELENT GAME!

Madisen, Amazon

  • Summary: First off I'd like to say to anyone that says only violent M rated games are cool, then you're wrong in every possible way and you've fallen victim to the epidemic of violence and will most likely end up in some musty old jail cell for the rest of your natural lives (and if it's REALLy bad, maybe you'll be in jail for the rest of your unnatural life). Now about the game. This game is the most amazing game I've ever played. Ever.

Great fun, but challenging.

Madisen, Amazon
5 April 2005
  • Summary: The first thing I would like to say is that if you plan to buy this, you should get the accompanying strategy guide. If you don't, you'll find this frustrating. With the help of a guide, though, the game becomes charming and challenging. First, the game is gorgeous for being released so early in the GameCube's life cycle. Sparkling lakes, peaceful meadows, and charred fire-pits all have a realistic, but still "painted" look to them.

Classic Nintendo! Cute, novel and creative!

SuperDougio, Amazon
1 January 2005
  • Summary: OK, as a launch title, Pikmin is no "SuperMario 64", but this is classic nintendo. Cute, original characters and fun, modestly challenging gameplay, make for a delightful introduction to the Gamecube's advanced performance. The basic premise is as follows: Olimar has crashlanded on a strange planet and has to visit several different lands to collect all the rocket parts necessary to repair his ship and return home.

  • Summary: What happens when gaming guru, Shigeru Miyamoto, is oppressed with the role as the integral man for masterminding the next Zelda and Metriod titles? From the production of Pikmin, it seems as if he seizes a deep, consoling breath and rips open a bag full of relaxation. Ah, finally all that dreadful anxiety and flagrant expectations from gaming fans everywhere wash away. His sheer brilliance veers into a jaunty, animated dream world.

Big Daniel McFoot, Amazon
1 January 2005
  • Summary: Pikmin is finally here. The breath of fresh air that was supposedly going to change the way we look at strategy games is in stores as I type this. Everyone always asks, "What is Pikmin about, anyway?" Yet, no one seems to know. So, by reading this review, you will not only find out what the hell it's about, but you will also receive the green light to go pick up this awesome game. Pikmin is about a strange, size-of-a-Quarter alien-creature named Captain Olimar.

  • Summary: Pikmin is an awsome game, let me tell you a little about how the story goes. This guy called Captain Olimar is in his rocket and gets hit by a meteor. He crashes on a strange planet. But he detects some stuff that makes it so he can live for only 30 days. So he finds a Pikmin, and makes it his slave. So then he has to go collecting his parts and building up his space ship, then fly home.

In the game you are a spaceman who collided with a rocket and crash landed there and now must enlist the help of the friendlly little Pikmin to help him find the missing parts of the ship. The game takes place in days, each day there is a new challenge ranging from finding food, to fighting off huge spiders and other creepy insects and creatures.
