  • Summary: Competition is fierce and caddies are in constant mortal danger as you beat them with your iron to raise your spirits and lower your score in this no-holds-barred golf game. With a hardcore physics engine that shows details from a blade of grass to the reflections seen in your club as it bounces off your caddy’s head, this take-no-prisoners game features interference from other golfers and female caddies who tee your balls and hold your wood.

  • Pros: Fun for multiplayer entertainment, Good amount of play modes to choose from
  • Cons: Annoying commentary, Not enough courses, Swinging is an exercise in frustration

The Armchair Empire

  • Conclusion: If your house is party central, you’ll spend a great deal of time in Exhibition Mode (the only way you can play with 2 to 4 players) with its 8 different arrangements such as My One and Only (one club, one putter) and, my favorite, Time Attack where strokes don’t matter, just get the ball in the hole the fastest. As with most games, playing with and against human opponents is way more fun than playing solo. (Multiplayer can be played with just one controller.

Outlaw Golf (GameCube)

11 January 2011
  • Conclusion: The lack of courses is something of a problem though, as good as they are 3 is a pathetic number when EA’s game boasts what, 14, 15? -, but somehow our interest was maintained by the fact that the challenges available on each are genuinely varied, and the control system never less than rewarding. One moment you are playing skins with a buxom beauty, the next you are playing on your own against a field trying to shoot the lowest score on the board.
  • Pros: Easy to get into and addictive., Nice replays., The putting feels, ., Beating up caddies because you hit a bad shot is good fun.
  • Cons: Not enough courses to play., It could have taken the ‘Outlaw’ concept further., Occasional jerky ball movement in replays.

Outlaw Golf
