Shang Tsung and Quan Chi then turned on each other, with Quan Chi being victorious. The victory was short lived, though, as the Dragon King, Onaga, former ruler of Outworld then returned. A new alliance was formed between the Deadly Alliance and Raiden to try and stop Onaga, but it was futile. Raiden sacrificed himself, hoping to not only destroy Onaga, but also the Deadly Alliance. Mortal Kombat: Deception has already been available for the PS2 and the Xbox for months now. The core of the Cube version remains identical although there are a few new features that try to make up for the lack of online play. All told, Deception for GameCube is a rock solid, over-the-top late-comer that didn't really need to come at all. Not that it's bad, it's just not particularly good enough to warrant owning. Renting? For sure. Read more
Overall, Mortal Kombat: Deception could easily be considered the best MK franchise iteration to have been birthed since Mortal Kombat II on the SNES. There is a great number of fighters to choose from, and each bring their own unique style of kombat to the game’s atmosphere to prevent boredom from possibly ever happening.
