Metroid Prime (GC) - Review

VGChartz
5 March 2009
  • Excerpt: by Mike Campa How do you bring a 2d sc-fi platformer/shooter built strongly around the mechanic of item collection and exploration into the modern era of 3d gaming? You turn it into a first person shooter, of course. And when Metroid fans heard this was the route fledgling developer Retro Studios was taking with their beloved franchise, there was an audible collective groan heard amongst the gaming community.

  • Excerpt: Metroid Prime is the next in the Metroid series, but the first of the series which I have played. Its story is of intergalactic bounty hunter, Samus Aran, and her ploy to take out the evil Space Pirates once and for all. She has tracked a Space Pirate frigate to a low orbit around the mysterious planet, Tallon IV, upon boarding the frigate you quickly learn the controls, and by scanning absolutely everything possible, you get a bit of an understanding of whats going on.
