Killer 7 Review

  • Excerpt: A wall ahead of you has some nonsensical text written on it. A rather freaky bystander informs you that the text isn't exactly as it seems; some of it is written in blood. He also tells you that the girl can tell what is written in blood and what isn't. An obvious puzzle, but the way it is solved is anything but ordinary. You switch to the young woman and perform her rather special ability.

  • Summary: killer7 is a rare game in today's gaming world of endless sequels and copy-cat games - it's stylish, bold, original and a welcome break from your typical FPS and adventure games. Despite the excellent style and overall presentation of the game it does suffer from shallow and straightforward gameplay. killer7 is a very different type of game, one which makes you think and a type of game that you probably won't get another chance to play if the gaming world stays as it is.

  • Excerpt: takes place in an alternate version of our modern day world where terrorism is a thing of the past. The world has come together and made giant leaps towards a peaceful future. Bridges have been built to span the major oceans, intercontinental ballistic missiles were turned into firework shows, and nuclear weapons are only in history books. All flights are grounded just to make the terrorists' bad day even worse.

  • Excerpt: Killer 7 is a mind bending, tour de force, crazy and sometimes confusing action adventure game by Capcom. They have brought us many other successful franchises before, but does Killer 7 have what it takes to compete with the rest and stand up to the many high quality games that Capcom has provided time and time again?
  • Pros: Visuals, Style, Sound, Puzzles, Storyline
  • Cons: Could be too weird and different for some, Play style is different from most, Story could come across confusing

  • Excerpt: This is bad! Really bad, like month-old leftovers in the back of the fridge kind of bad. Many video games have long lost the sweet taste of excellence, curdling into a sour paste of mediocrity. The gameplay has become formulaic, the plot twists are predictable, and the characters lack any sort of spice or zest.

Weird, But Wonderful

  • Excerpt: Killer 7 is one of those games that you just can't put your finger on. It delights and dismays in equal measure. The things that make it great are also the things that make you want to poke your eyes out with a stick rather than play another second. But before you do poke your eyes out with a stick I advise you to look at Killer 7 because it is stunning. It's like playing the "Sin City" movie as a game.

  • Excerpt: killer7 had people guessing ever since it was first unveiled way back in 2002. We were still guessing when it was shown unplayable at following two E3's. It will have players guessing until the very end, and most likely, it will have them guessing even when the credits are rolling.
