Summary: This game is hard but what do you expect, the game is not made for you to win a by the click of your fingers. All F1 driving games are hard, you have to master skills and learn how to drive like a pro. F1 driving is not like driving a normal car, it's harder. The fact is if you just want a game so you can win all the time everytime from the start, then this is not the game for you. If you are a F1 fan then you should love learning all of the bits and bobs. Case Closed!
Summary: Awful, frankly. The controls are inert and lifeless, both X and Y axis responding to nothing at first and then giving you full lock or full throttle without warning. Attempting to assign the accelerator and brake to the shoulder buttons (as is effectively achieved in Forza, for example) is even worse. The Gamecube controller just isn't suited to the sort of precision you need when driving any sort of simulation.
Excerpt: "...mode is more for the F1 purist most other gamers will get bored after about 2 races. Team mate challenge **************************** This is a mode where you race, but you have to finish in front of your team mate to try to win the championship. This is a fun mode and will increase the lifespan of the game. Domination ***************** Now this is something a bit different again for the F1 purist, this is where you do an F1 championship ...
Pros: Graphics are pretty sharp .
Cons: Controls is not very smooth . Electronic arts .
Summary: Take it from me, a true f1 fan, this game is da bomb! its just so perfect! takes a long time to learn how to drive the car properly but once you do youll be glad you baught it! The cars feel so real, you can almost feel the asphalt under the tyres, fron accellerating to turning corners at speed to smashing into a solid wall at 170+ mph and watching the bits fly! A lot of time and effort has gone into this game and it shows! and it looks real enough!
Excerpt: "F1 game is a easy game to play. Excellent graphics. The circuits are very realistic and a lot of choice.Like real grand prix circuits and you can change the weather conditions so increasing difficulty of circuit.Choice of tyres. The cars look very real and have all the sponsors and logos on them. Commentary on the races is not very good, but would recommend game to buy. Very playable and addictive. If you like formula one racing you would like this game ...
Summary: Reading the back of the game gives the prospective buyer the impression that this title will be pretty fantastic, sampled F1 engines, grid girls, realistic collision damage and first class A.I. for the drivers racing against you. I payed my £40.00 and rushed home to drive the new Renault and Toyota F1 cars.
Summary: Although there is nothing essentially bad about this game, it doesn't really excell in any areas either. The game offers the usual features of quick arcade mode or the more detailed simulation mode, and being able to customise your own championship so you race on the normal circuits in the order you prefer. You must also complete some driving tests before you can start a championship season, similar to Gran Turismo on the PS.
Summary: Theres nothing essentially wrong with F1, but it doesnt capture your imagination or inspire you. The cars dont handle particularly well and the graphics and game are just average. Its ok but it wont change your life, if your an F1 fan you will enjoy it, but if not then try before you buy.
Summary: I bought this title hoping for it to be a German magician, instead what I found myself with was a Maylasian monkey. I'll start by mentioning the graphics...simply terrible for a machine of the GC's power and instruction set. Bland tracks and colours, flat spectators, rubbish weather effects and limited camera angles encapsulate the crap that EA has released. You get some pretty bad slow down as well at some points in the game. The Sound effects are non existent..
Summary: I was a bit sceptical as there has been some negative press about this title as it seems to be a combination of F12002 from the PS2 updated to include 2002 teams etc. I have to say that so far it's great - the training mode is good fun and the graphics are good though not earth-shattering. Sound is also pretty good and overall I would say if you're an F1 fan then don't hesitate to buy it. If you want something more arcade-like then try Burnout instead.
