  • Summary: Very enjoyable game. The silly sound effects keep the songs feeling fresh. The kids love it and it is a good alternative to rockband and guitar hero

Sheer fun, sheer class, sheer brilliance!!

Mark, amazon.co.uk
3 March 2006
  • Summary: This is a FANTASTIC game! This, in my opinion, is better than the dance mat games, it is absolutely brilliant! The songs are good, the modes, and there are a lot, like mini games, challenges, guess the notes etc, too many, but they are all excellent! Me and my g/f have had alot of fun on this and we've never been bored of it yet and don't think we will!

Doo Doo Doo! Come on and do the Konga!

MilkyMalk..., Ciao
6 June 2005
  • Excerpt: "...Nintendo GameCube exclusive and features Donkey Kong, Nintendo's very first franchise, and one of its most loved characters. For those of you who are unaware, Donkey Kong (or DK for short) is a big orange ape who goes about in the nude apart from a red monogrammed tie that he sports around his neck. His little companion Diddy Kong is also present in the game, being a much smaller chimp, who is much more refined in that he sports a red baseball cap ...
  • Pros: Addictive fun, a riot in multiplayer, improves rythym
  • Cons: Additional bongos cost money, maybe not ideal for all, weak minigames

Bleeding Knuckles

J. J. Hassan "Jj~", amazon.co.uk
18 April 2005
  • Summary: Oh yeah, this rocks! I'll summarise it for you, imagine one of those dance mat style games but where the notes are actually to a rythm. This is, along side Super Smash Bros. Melee, the best party game on the Gamecube. The strongest aspect of the game is of course the main battle and challenge modes (battle being head to head and challenge being co-op), though the buyable mini games and "new drum kits" provide a nice gimmick giving the single player mode purpose.

BonGO-CRAZY! Original AND Fun!

musicmake..., Ciao
14 January 2005
  • Excerpt: "...and consistantly brilliant games. Donkey Konga enshrines these qualities brilliantly and the word 'gimmick' certainly couldn't be more out of place in this review. THE BASIC IDEA The basic idea of the game is to use the bongo's to play along to the tunes (there's something you didn;t know!)...basically a series of symbols fly across the screen and as they pass the target you have to hit the approproate bongo or clap. Its that simple, and simplicity ...
  • Pros: Novel, Great Fun, GREAT Multiplayer
  • Cons: Multiplayer needs costly bongos !

Bongo Fun

Katie2803, Ciao
5 January 2005
  • Excerpt: "...get, Wild Thing, DK Rap, Donkey kong Country Theme, Donkey Konga theme, Rainbow Cruise, Super Mario Bros Theme, Super Smash Bros Melee Opening, The Legend of Zelda. With all these tracks you are bound to find something for everyone, but the game is still fun even if you've never heard the song before. The songs have a difficulty rating shown by bongos, so you can start off with the easy ones and move on as you improve. There are 3 difficulty ...
  • Pros: Fun game for everyone
  • Cons: Your hands hurt after a while !

I cannot believe it !

Roy D. Fisher "ozzig", amazon.co.uk
8 December 2004
  • Summary: I would have never bought this in a million years, if it wasn't for working with a complete loon ! He showed me the Japanese trailer and something clicked. Ordered it, arrived within the 3-5 day delivery quoted - plugged in the bongos, didn't stop laughing The game itself is exceptionally simple, but totally fun. I'd like to have seen some more tunes I know replacing some of the Nintendo ones, but having a ball so far !!!!
