The Laser

  • Summary: Taking rhythm games deep into the jungle beat, Nintendo's addictive Donkey Konga for the Gamecube offers players a varied music game that's easy to play yet surprisingly challenging. The game's unique DK Bongo controllers consist of two drums and also allows players to clap their hands to the rhythm of each song in the game. There are dozens of gameplay modes and mini-games which extend Donkey Konga's replayability and challenge.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: It's fun. As the novely wanes, so too does the enjoyment level unfortunately. Still, it's something different to the usual crop of titles and at a very reasonable price point is well worth picking up. Adding a few extra bongo controllers to your shopping cart wouldn't do any harm either.

Donkey Konga

Project COE
27 September 2004
  • Conclusion: Ultimately, it is the music that that makes or breaks a rhythm-based game, and it is safe to say that while Donkey Konga's musical choices are a bit strange, they still make the gameplay experience worth while. The game offers over 30 songs that do not overcrowd one particular genre. You will hear everything from children sing-alongs like "Bingo" to popular songs like "What I like about you" and of course, Nintendo theme music from its famous franchises such as Mario and...

Donkey Konga GameCube Review

DarkZero
10 May 2004
  • Conclusion: Namco have done a good job with their first Donkey Kong title. The game is great fun and definitely retains that ‘Nintendo feel’ that we all know and love. It’s easy to pick up and play, but devilish to master, and it will even interest the non gamers in the family, just by virtue of the bongos and their novelty value. Should you buy it on import?

Donkey Konga 2, simple expansion...

Game-Focus
2 March 2014
  • Pros: - Le principe - Les bongos
  • Cons: - Simple expansion - Manque de gros tubes - Interactivité

J'ai le rythme dans la peau !

OteraGame
8 April 2009
