Unique gameply with the bongos.

DKandDK , GameStop
3 March 2012
  • Summary: The bongos sometimes make the game even funner. My one problem with the bongos is that m,y arms hurt after completing a world so I cant play the game for that long. I like the idea that to unlock new worlds, you have to collect a certain amount of"beats". When you collect bannanas or kill enemies, you gain beats. The more beats you have at the end of the world, the higher the medal you get. You need a certain amount of medals to unlock certain worlds.

A truly excellent gaming experience with bongos!

  • Summary: YAY! BONGOS! FUN! This is one of the best Game Cube games I have ever played! Both controls work great, controller or bongos. It could have had just one improvement, multiplayer. I highly reccomend it, whether you have the bongos, or not. I played the first 15 or so hours of the game without Bongos. Of course when I eventually got the bongos it was even better. The game has epic bird fight, where you get to bash your head into a bird's egg a billion times.

  • Summary: I recently borrowed this game from a friend and I love it! I've just recently beaten the apple kingdom. Kingdoms are levels once you complete 1 jungle section you've completed a world the game is long and is really recomended you purchase a bongo set for making gameplay more fun and not as difacult (playing without bongos made me feel like i was gonna break my remote cause of controls) overal excellent game and good fun!

DK64 sequel, Donkey Kong Country Returns prequel

Polarbearblue , GameStop
24 November 2010
  • Summary: So Donkey Kong Returns came out this month, a game I was waiting on since this game. And since I pre-order the game, I thought I'd write a review for the the game that would be come next or should be played after Donkey Kong 64 (not to knock off those other games because Donkey Konga was a nice game).

More madness

  • Summary: This game is great. The bongos make the game much funner and more interactive than your typical platformer, I would recommend this to anyone who like platform games with a zing.

One of the GameCube's best! CLASSIC.

Arway "Tree Hugger", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I'm writing this review a bit late (the game's probably hard to pick up new these days), but it doesn't matter. Definately get hold of this if you loved the old sidescrolling platformers on the SNES, Mega Drive, or the PlayStation. It's great, great fun. There's a really wacky, charming jungle vibe to this that comes from the gorgeously animated backdrops and rhythmic musical beats.

The best video game I've played in the last 10 years+

PB, amazon.co.uk
13 December 2005
  • Summary: Video games continue to get more complicated and multi-layered. That's fine - it's natural, but technical progression doesn't mean you have a better game per se. DK JB is immediately playable and has just the right learning curve - enough of a challenge to keep you coming back for more, but also really rewarding.
