Die Hard: Vendetta just about manages to rise above mediocrity
17 June 2010
Excerpt: On first inspection Die Hard Vendetta may seem like another generic, churned out first person shooter based on a film licence. To an extent that description is right, but Die Hard Vendetta also tries to be more than that and just about pulls it off.
Pros: Some innovative features, Makes reasonable use of the Die Hard cast
Cons: Somewhat generic, No multiplayer, Does not stand up to modern First Person Shooters
Excerpt: We have all seen the numerous Die Hard movies, and (in my opinion at least) they are... quite poor, all having the same storyline where the hero John Mclane saves everyone from a next to impossible situation!! Well guess what, they have decided to bring out a Die Hard game.
Excerpt: I have only owned a Gamecube for about a year now but this has to be my favourite and most played game. This game was designed specifically for the Gamecube. You take on the role of the LA policeman John McClane. Your mission is to save your daughter Lucy, who is a new recruit to the LAPD.
Summary: There was a lot of footage on the net for this game a few months ago but alot of opinions have changed regarding the quality of the game. If you want a fast and furious FPS game then go buy Timesplitters 2, Die Hard Vendetta tho does have alot more realism and does seem to follow a few traits of the...
Summary: Ok- so the bad stuff our of the way first. The framerate can be really ropey and the engine is a bit suspect (try running right up to a person with a gun and laughing as their head swells in proportion to your hands).
Summary: Im used to playing most of my first person shooters on the PC, as I find the control system a lot eaiser with a keyboard and mouse. This game changes my view on that. Die Hard Vendetta uses a automatic aim which I find a lot eaiser then trying to aim manually (althoigh that option is avaliable).
Summary: Die Hard on the Gamecube is an entertaining game with a well-executed licence. But it is not up to scratch for a Gamecube title, looking and playing more like a PS One game. The characterisation is weak with stilted dialogue and motion, and the feathertouch controls leave you jumping and crouching...
Summary: I am a big fan of 1st person shooters and have enjoyed Doom, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Timesplitters 2 throughout various generations of Nintendo consoles. I was expecting a great game in Die Hard Vendetta but was hugely disappointed.
Summary: The first exclusive fps(First person shooter) to be released on the GC, and its not disappointing at all, with stealth mode, hero time where you go into slow motion and can watch the bullets fly, and also you can grab an enemy and put a gun to his head to force his colleagues to put down their...

Summary: I agree with the negative comments regarding specific aspects of this game, namely poor :- Framerate AI Graphics Implementation of "auto aim" (too easy) However, to write this title off would be unfair. The game is surprisingly playable, with interesting puzzles and story.
