  • Summary: This definitely has the feel of Die Hard, even though it's not Bruce Willis providing the voice (whoever does do it does a pretty fair imitation). It has the dodgiest control layout outside of Turok, is insanely difficult in places and will often leave you stumped about how you're supposed to finish a task (very often, pick a wrong choice and you'll have to replay a big chunk of level: have an internet guide to hand).

Die Hard: Vendetta just about manages to rise above mediocrity

MrSibs, Ciao
17 June 2010
  • Excerpt: On first inspection Die Hard Vendetta may seem like another generic, churned out first person shooter based on a film licence. To an extent that description is right, but Die Hard Vendetta also tries to be more than that and just about pulls it off. The plot isn’t based around any of the movies, being set after them, but die hard fans of the movies (bad pun intended) will be pleased to hear you play as John McClane.
  • Pros: Some innovative features, Makes reasonable use of the Die Hard cast
  • Cons: Somewhat generic, No multiplayer, Does not stand up to modern First Person Shooters

Another Die Hard film.... no wait its a game!

  • Excerpt: We have all seen the numerous Die Hard movies, and (in my opinion at least) they are... quite poor, all having the same storyline where the hero John Mclane saves everyone from a next to impossible situation!! Well guess what, they have decided to bring out a Die Hard game. I was given the game as a gift, and after looking at reviews, i wasn't expecting it to be great, but i turned on and started playing anyway, and believe it or not actually enjoyed it!
  • Pros: Nice twists and features, ingenious levels
  • Cons: repetition, controls, no multiplayer .

Die Hard: Vendetta

6 August 2004
  • Excerpt: I have only owned a Gamecube for about a year now but this has to be my favourite and most played game. This game was designed specifically for the Gamecube. You take on the role of the LA policeman John McClane. Your mission is to save your daughter Lucy, who is a new recruit to the LAPD. You also have to protect various citizens and recover objects.
  • Pros: Everything
  • Cons: None

  • Summary: Die Hard Vendetta can best be described with one word. Mediocre. You play as tough guy cop John McLaine, who seems to foil terrorists for a living. Anyway, John is caught up in a whole lot of trouble when his daughter Lucy is kidnapped by a big bad tycoon and a flushed out Hollywood Star. First of all, the graphics are good, but not great.

Die Hard Vendetta - More than the sum of its parts

"jamesrburns", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I agree with the negative comments regarding specific aspects of this game, namely poor :- Framerate AI Graphics Implementation of "auto aim" (too easy) However, to write this title off would be unfair. The game is surprisingly playable, with interesting puzzles and story. I have been through the game in easy mode just to get the puzzles done. I am sufficiently impressed to return to the game in the future to play it at the hard level as a "shooter".

Die Hard Vendetta - Review

"paulmc87", amazon.co.uk
26 December 2002
  • Summary: The first exclusive fps(First person shooter) to be released on the GC, and its not disappointing at all, with stealth mode, hero time where you go into slow motion and can watch the bullets fly, and also you can grab an enemy and put a gun to his head to force his colleagues to put down their weapons. You can get enemy unifroms to blend in with the crowd, arrest terrorist and interrogate them.

What a disappointment !

Mr S Johnson, amazon.co.uk
10 December 2002
  • Summary: I am a big fan of 1st person shooters and have enjoyed Doom, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Timesplitters 2 throughout various generations of Nintendo consoles. I was expecting a great game in Die Hard Vendetta but was hugely disappointed. The 3D engine and graphics are not up to scratch and the autoaim function makes the game abit of a button basher.

Entertaining, but dated

amazon.co.uk
23 November 2002
  • Summary: Die Hard on the Gamecube is an entertaining game with a well-executed licence. But it is not up to scratch for a Gamecube title, looking and playing more like a PS One game. The characterisation is weak with stilted dialogue and motion, and the feathertouch controls leave you jumping and crouching at the wrong moments as you try to navigate each level.
