Game Freaks 365
25 June 2003
  • Excerpt: This is long overdue, particularly since its sequel is already out, but I wanted to have a review on file for this game so I could refer back to it in my Bomberman Jetters review. This game is truly one of the best of the early GCN titles, beaten out only by Super Smash Brothers Melee and possibly Super Monkey Ball.

Bomberman Generation

The Next Level
16 July 2002
  • Excerpt: Born of the trend of cel shading, the graphics have a distinctly cartoon look. Bomberman and his enemies sport the typical black outline and smooth coloring of the graphical style, while the surrounding environments range from lushly colored outdoor scenes to rigidly mechanical structures surrounded by molten metals. Bomberman even sinks to the depths of the sea to explore sunken ships and to battle with malignant shellfish.

GamesFirst!
28 June 2002
  • Excerpt: Bomberman is back, and this time he's in 3D, cel-shaded graphics that work great. Bomberman Generation shifts the focus of the previous games toward adventure-puzzle gameplay, and our resident Bomberman fanatic just loves it. Click here.
  • Pros: ups: Strategy-oriented puzzle solving mixed with adventure; cute characters and bright, colorful graphics; classic franchise goes 3D and cel-shaded; Battle Mode adds lots of replay value.
  • Cons: downs: Not much of a story; short single-player mode.

Bomberman Generation

Nintendofans.de
8 November 2003
  • Pros: Klassischer MP-Modus
  • Cons: Mitspieler fast Pflicht, Wirkt oft lächerlich
