Aggressive Inline (Gamecube) Review

Vooks
17 March 2007
  • Excerpt: The extreme sports genre is now a very crowded one, thanks in large part to the dominance of the Tony Hawk juggernaut and all the titles that copied it. However, to merely dismiss Aggressive Inline as a Tony Hawk wannabe on rollerblades would be to do it a great injustice. For as much as other games have followed the Hawk series, that series itself owes much of what it is today to this humble title.

  • Excerpt: Back in 1999 very few people, except the hardcore crowd that followed and took part in activities like skateboarding and roller blading, enjoyed extreme sports. Then in late 1999 a game came out on the PlayStation that changed the world as we know it. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (originally known as Tony Hawk's Skateboarding in this country) was released to amazing critical and commercial success and two sequels later and with another on the way, the series seems unstoppable.

  • Excerpt: Tony Hawk started it. His games were some of the first in the \'exteme sports\' genre. Then Z-Axis, the developer of this game, came out with Thrasher: Skate and Destroy for Sony\'s Playstation. Since then, Tony has had 4 games, Z-Axis has moved from Rockstar Games, publishers of Thrasher, to Acclaim, and produced two Dave Mirra games, one inline skating title, and the disgusting BMX .
