1080 Avalanche

Project COE
1 December 2003
  • Conclusion: In any case, the game has a few areas that needed more attention, namely the variety of characters to choose from and the length of the courses. The Nintendo 64 title sported eight, playable boarders, many of which are absent from the new roster in 1080: Avalanche. Fans of characters such as Kensuke Kimachi will have to settle for returning Wave Race characters, Ricky Winterborn, Rob Haywood and Akari Hayami. Two new characters make an appearance as well.

1080 Avalanche

The Armchair Empire
29 March 2003
  • Conclusion: 1080°: Avalanche brings its unique tradition of authentic 3-D snowboarding action to NINTENDO GAMECUBE. Game play satisfaction snowballs as players master snowboarding physics and an all-new trick system. Favorite boarders, such as the well-balanced Kensuke, the technical master Rob or the incredibly fast Dion, charge jumps, grab huge air and complete twisted combos. Watch out though, a potentially impressive stunt could lead to a board-breaking disaster.

1080 Avalanche GameCube Review

DarkZero
23 December 2003
  • Conclusion: Although people weren’t expecting much from this game it definitely came as a nice surprise to me and I sure it will surprise other doubters to. It offers a great racing experience. The races where the avalanches chase you are far more exciting and exhilarating than anything EA’s SSX3 can give you but sadly the game itself does not last as long as I would like it to.
