Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Game Over Online
19 September 2004
  • Excerpt: The invitation to write a review of Yoshi's Island is simultaneously heartwarming, because I enjoyed the game, but also unnerving. I've never played the original Yoshi's Island. Nor did I play Yoshi's Story. Nor do I truly remember when Yoshi came into being in the Mario world.

  • Conclusion: Since I never got threw the Super Nintendo version I am having a blast playing the Gameboy Advance version. This is probably Miyamoto's weirdest and wackiest 2d game and that is really saying a lot.

  • Excerpt: It's no wonder people were so disappointed with Yoshi's Story for the Nintendo 64. It's because they were expecting it to be as good as Yoshi's Island. Yoshi's Island is a prequel to Super Mario World. It was originally released for the SNES in 1995.

  • Excerpt: Having never played Yoshi’s Island on SNES, I was eager to pick this game up. I said to myself, if it were anything like Super Mario World, I’d be more than satisfied. Well, incase you were wondering, it’s not like Super Mario World, rather, it throws a bunch of new game play elements into the mix.

Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island

Nintendo World Report
5 October 2002
  • Summary: Another Mario Advance game means another review from The Younger Plumber! Is it really the SNES classic, or just what’s in Baby Mario’s diapers?
  • Pros: Beautiful graphics and art style, Classic gameplay, almost completely unaltered, Crisp controls, Six new levels
