Last year developer 5th Cell unleashed perhaps the most ambitious title of the year for the DS in Scribblenauts ; its tagline was “Write anything. Solve everything,” and for the most part the innovative dictionary-come-to-life system delivered on that end of the promise. Where the game fell far short of expectations, however, was in an awkward user interface when it came to moving Maxwell (your avatar), haphazard physics, and a par system that was meant to encourage... • All of the complaints about the original? Pretty much addressed, including and especially the controls and camera.
    • Sometimes cryptic about what is and is not an acceptable for a solution to some puzzles.

Zelda games usually enjoy a lot of hype, and justifiably so, as Nintendo’s Zelda franchise has produced some of gaming’s finest adventures, captivating players with its pure gameplay and complex, yet easy-to-follow storylines. Aside from Link’s sword-slinging heroics, Zelda games have also focused on certain themes: past versus present, light versus dark, and now, the franchise’s developers have come up with something no one expected: big versus small. I have a confession to make: I don't think I "get" The Legend of Zelda anymore. Having played most of the titles in the series through to completion, I feel a little immune to seeing the their immense charms recycled yet again for a new generation of gamers, as they are in The Minish Cap . On the one hand, this makes perfect logical sense, of course—familiarity breeding contempt and so forth. Read more

Aaaahhh....Princess Zelda. When will you stop getting into so much trouble? In Link's final original GBA adventure, Vaati, some evil sorcerer, has turned Zelda to stone and its up to you, Link, to turn her back to her old self and save Hyrule. Collect weapons and magic items, gain hearts, save Hyrule. Sounds very familiar. Read more

Overall: It is perhaps one of the shortest Zelda games ever played and that's saying a lot from playing many different ones over the years. Does that mean it is a bad game? No, it is just short. You're on a quick ride but it has its moments of being challenging. It is a good solid Zelda game and nothing that can be complained about on what to expect of course. If you are a major Zelda fan and would like to collect every Zelda game possible, go for this one. Read more

Although the Minish people are vertically challenged, their place in this world is relevant to Link. He’ll need their help in his quest for Kinstones in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Link looks as good as ever. He slashes the bad guys and solves dungeon puzzles as he does in his previous games. This time, he shrinks it down a notch to hang out with the Minish people. Their village is literally tiny, but the secrets it holds are big ones.
