Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
23 October 2005
Excerpt: After the success of the first Mario
Advance game, it was obvious that Nintendo was going to release a
sequel. But, to our surprise, they didn't choose the 1988 classic,
Super Mario Bros. 3. Instead, they chose its sequel, 1990's Super Mario
World. This game was much easier to port to the Game Boy Advance, as
opposed to SMB3, but Nintendo didn't stop there. They added some new
features to make the game different.
Summary: On vacation in Dinosaur Land, Mario and Luigi get word of Bowser-brewed trouble afoot. With help from Yoshi, the helpful little dinosaur who joins them for the first time, they set out to save Princess Peach from the Koopa King. They'll have their work cut out for them as they travel through nine huge worlds to hunt down Bowser and his evil Koopalings: Wendy O., Iggy, Larry, Ludwig Von, Lemmy, Morton Jr., and Roy.
Pros: 40 Tracks, 8
Characters, Battery Backup, Great Game Audio, Spectacular
Excerpt: As if the increasing amounts of SNES ports to the Gameboy Advance weren’t enough, yet another port comes to the GBA. Super Mario Advance 2, a port of the wonderful Super Mario World, is new from Nintendo. The game was originally created in the early 1990’s, but here today, in 2002; did the port job keep the original magic? Super Mario World involves Mario and a Super World, or Super Mario and a world. I’m not really certain.
Excerpt: Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 review Game Over Online - http://www.game-over.com Nintendo has managed to release at least one Mario game with the launch of each hardware platform, with the exception of the GameCube. But to many, Luigi and Mario are almost(!) synonymous since a mere mention of their names will drum up a chain of fond memories. The two have been featured in some of the most innovative platform titles in the industry.
