Good and Bad

Becki, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: Bought this as a game to use on the go and all in all it's ok. I don't like the mario bros. part of the game because I simply don't know how to do it and it's not as though i'm an inexperienced gamer. However, super mario bros. 2 is really good, enjoyable and actually completable!! I wouldn't have bought this if I knew about the poorer side to this game. I recommend you just buy super mario bros. 2.

Supermario?

  • Summary: This isnt a bad game nor is it a great game either .I would say it fits in between the two somewhere . One of the first available advance games , so as an initial game you would be compelled to be impressed , however the question lies with , impressed with this game or the more likely , impressed by the advance itself.

Buy Wario Land 4 instead

  • Summary: This was one of those "must have" games when the GBA was launched. It's OK as these things go, but it feels like it was rushed out in order to meet the launch. There's a lack of depth here. I'm not saying this because I got spoiled with Super Mario 64, but simply because I've got a lot of Gameboy Advance games, and I know that it's possible to make a game with much more content than this. I also found the game frustrating after a while.

Good, but not good enough

Patrick Seurre, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: Mario Advance. Looks nice, infact a mario on the gameboy advance should be perfect, however nintendo have chosen to release 'Mario 2' which is the odd one out of the entire mario series. It's basically your typical platformer, no classic mario jumping on baddies heads, no mushrooms, no stars. It gets very repetative very soon. If your a mario fan, obviously it's a must have game, but I give this 3 stars, at it really is nothing special.

  • Summary: this game is great, anyone who remembers it from the nes will immensly enjoy playing through it again. The games still the same part from some the new sfx (fab) and little touches hear an there. for what the gba can do this game really doesnt push anything, and its obvious why so many say its rubbish...

Mario Advanced...sort off (beyond the hype)

.., amazon.co.uk
30 June 2001
  • Summary: A new Nintendo console brings us a new Mario game....that's called tradition. Where 12 years ago I was utterly crazed by Super marioland, I must confess this version left me somewhat disappointed: The game itself is fluid, has all Mario characteristics and has a great playability. But - maybe I'm too spoiled by the giant leap PSX brought- for a 32-bit system it is fairly disappointing. Throughout the game I haven't found any surprises or real innovations.

Good, but can do better

Alexandria Munro, amazon.co.uk
26 June 2001
  • Summary: Everyone knows that a Nintendo console almost always launches with a Mario game, and the Game Boy Advance is no different. Usually, in a standard Mario platform game, you (i.e. Mario) have to jump on the bad guys to kill 'em, however in Mario Advance you have to, er, pull up giant vegetables (let's call them turnips from here on in) and throw them at the enemies.

Sprungspektakel

Yopi

Yopi
10 May 2005
  • Summary: Ja so ist das.

Simon, Pricerunner

  • Summary: Detta spel är ett bra spel. Koppla ihop ditt Game Boy Advance till en annan kompis Game Boy Advance och båda två kan spela med bara en kasett... En spelar läget är däremot inte så mycket att hurra över.
