Good, but can get frustrating

  • Summary: Firstly, I have to applaud this game for staying true to the original PS1 Spyro trilogy. The game serves as a sequel to year of the dragon, with Spyro receiving a distress call from the fairies, who have been frozen with magic spell. The task is to travel throughout the word and save the fairies from their icy prisons. The game even manages to keep the speedway levels and sparx levels similarly seen in the previous spyro games.

Playable but not outstanding

  • Summary: The three original Spyro games on the Playstation, along with the first four Crash Bandicoot games, marked the epitome of the 3-D platformer. Rendered and dynamic environment with solid gamplay. That era is long gone but at the time of this game's release I wanted to continue to live the dream in a portable medium...

  • Summary: I bought this version of Spyro after having already completed (almost!) the previous Spyro games (apart from Enter the Dragonfly, which was dreadful!) All in all I though the game was really good, but sometimes I found it was really difficult to control the dragon, especially when jumping. Worth the money, but you would be better off getting season of flame instead as it's easier to control and the game just looks much better.

  • Summary: When I saw the 3D-style gameplay on the pictures on the box and when first playing the game, I thought, WOW, this is gonna be great. After half an hour of running round rescuing stupid little fairies in very similarly dull levels i was beginning to doubt it. The gameplay is surprisingly difficult and I had trouble at first, yet it doesn't get much harder- there's no learning curve- The cutesy characters and storyline are obviously aimed at young children but I don't know...

fun but can be annoying!

  • Summary: This is a great easy game with some nice graphics if you don't want your brain taxed to much. There are irritants; ie. falling of some platforms is very, very easy to do and in each level everything can look very similar so it's easy to get lost. It's still a good game though and you can play on without meeting too many tricky obstacles, if that's what you want.
