Good, but can get frustrating

  • Summary: Firstly, I have to applaud this game for staying true to the original PS1 Spyro trilogy. The game serves as a sequel to year of the dragon, with Spyro receiving a distress call from the fairies, who have been frozen with magic spell. The task is to travel throughout the word and save the fairies from their icy prisons. The game even manages to keep the speedway levels and sparx levels similarly seen in the previous spyro games.

Playable but not outstanding

Dean M. George, amazon.co.uk
4 June 2009
  • Summary: The three original Spyro games on the Playstation, along with the first four Crash Bandicoot games, marked the epitome of the 3-D platformer. Rendered and dynamic environment with solid gamplay. That era is long gone but at the time of this game's release I wanted to continue to live the dream in a portable medium...

  • Summary: i got this game for my birth day, i think its brill but its quite hard. i have completed it (well i used some cheats) and i want to start again. the story line is that some one found a magic book and tryed a spell to make them smarter and more powerful, but ended up with two heads and is fat because he read the book upside down, to reverse the spell he has to get 100 farie wings and then enters spyro.

OK but poor controls

Birdy (dabird64@hotmail.com), amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I bought this version of Spyro after having already completed (almost!) the previous Spyro games (apart from Enter the Dragonfly, which was dreadful!) All in all I though the game was really good, but sometimes I found it was really difficult to control the dragon, especially when jumping. Worth the money, but you would be better off getting season of flame instead as it's easier to control and the game just looks much better.

spyro makes a great debut on gameboy advance

  • Summary: This is the first time spyro has made an appearance on gameboy advance, and i have to say they've done a pretty good job. The story goes, that Grendor (the baddy) has stolen loads of fairies and he's going to use their wings to perform a magic spell, and its Spyros job to get them back! Its a very basic story but with some challenging levels. This game is quite hard to get the hang of, but when you have, it will be very enjoyable.

All new bosses and lands never before seen with dragon eyes

Sarah(demon_angelius@hotmail.com), amazon.co.uk
22 March 2002
  • Summary: In Season of Ice, Spyro, relaxing during a much deserved vacation in Dragon Shores, receives a message that a careless Rhynoc wizard has captured Zoe and frozen all the fairies throughout the Fairy Realms. Using her last bit of magic, Zoe sends a magic balloon to Spyro for help. Determined to save his friends from the wicked wizard, Spyro teams up with his friends Hunter and Sparx to save Zoe and free as many of the frozen fairies before time runs out.

Spyros Back!

Birdy (dabird64@hotmail.com), amazon.co.uk
24 January 2002
  • Summary: I immediatly picked up Spyro when it came out. Id played the PS versions before it, and that was enough reason to buy it. I still remember my first thought about the game - 'Damn this is an annoying perspective!'. And its true. The sorta-3d perspective is really annoying at first, but you get used to it after about 10 minutes. Anyways, the graphics on this game are beautiful.
