  • Excerpt: Sega really know what they’re doing sometimes, don’t they’ Everyone knows that the GBA is a fine platform for turn-based RPGs ( Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics …) and after the lukewarm reception that the Shining Soul series has received so far, they’re trying again with Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon .

  • Conclusion: Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon is a great game to start with if you are not familiar with turn based RPGs. You can easily pick at this game for all of the things that are not in it, but when it comes down to it Shining Force is still one of the best in this genre. The game has still aged well so if you have some money sitting around you should pick this game up.

Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon Review

GameSpot

  • Excerpt: It shouldn't come as any surprise that, just like so many other games in the GBA's library, Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon is a remake of a game that originally appeared on a 16-bit system back in the early 1990s. What is surprising, however, is that with just a handful of upgrades, Sega and Atlus have taken one of the best strategy role-playing games on the Sega Genesis and have made it into one of the best strategy RPGs on the Game Boy Advance.

  • Excerpt: Amusement Vision's remake of the classic Strategy RPG, ported from Sega Genesis to Game Boy Advance, demonstrated the capability the GBA platform had to re-visit classic titles from many different sources. It's an odd alliance when Sega titles are published on a Nintendo system, but it's even more wacky when the US publisher comes straight out of right field: Atlus!

Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon
