Rayman Advance

FunRanch.com
27 April 2002
  • Excerpt: Rayman is back in his brand new adventure for the Game Boy Advance! The evil Mr. Dark has imprisoned the happy little electoons, and Betilla the fairy is powerless to stop him! It's up to Rayman to free the electoons, defeat Mr. Dark, and restore peace to the valley.
  • Pros: It's satisfying to finally free all of the electoons in a level.
  • Cons: you have a certain amount of continues, and when you're out of them, you pretty much have to start over.

Rayman Advance

The Armchair Empire

  • Conclusion: "RA is very playable and it’s easy to just enjoy a few levels as you’re waiting for dinner or need a quick videogame fix." Cripes! Another cute platform jumper – this one starring a limbless guy named Rayman. While I love side scrolling platform jumpers as much as everyone else, what concerns me is the philosophical and metaphysical questions that a limbless man presents.
  • Pros: - Great looking game, - Easy to get into for all ages, - Solid control, - Many levels
  • Cons: - Doesn’t advance the genre, - More port than original game

  • Excerpt: Rayman was a sleeper hit on the Sony PlayStation back when it was released in 1996; an excellent "family" orientated game apparently lost in a sea of more aggressive titles that made up the bulk of the PSX library. Born again and "ported" to the GameBoy Advance as "Rayman Advance," this eternally cheery, side-scrolling platformer lets the loveably limbless Rayman shine in all his hopping, bopping and berry-picking glory.
