Mario Kart Super Circuit

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: I have had quite the hankering for some retro gaming lately, and Mario Kart Super Circuit on the Gameboy Advance (GBA) certainly fits the bill. I found this game for under twenty bucks under the Player’s Choice label. For those that have played the Nintendo DS version this is a very nice way to see the roots of the series, since the GBA version has much more in common with the Super NES (SNES) version (editor: hence the retro gaming crave).

Mario Kart Super Circuit

Nintendo World Report
18 September 2001
  • Summary: Though most of you have already bought this game, I've written this review for the people without a GBA, because if you've got a GBA, but not this game, your baby is now Miss Cleo's.
  • Pros: Excellent multiplayer options, whether with one pak or four., Forty tracks. Forty. You won't get bored., Great music. What owns your ass? Urgh, I can't remember... oh yeah, Koopa Beach's music does.
  • Cons: Altered handling may turn some off. But they are weak., Cannot be hooked directly into your veins., Delay in Single Pak play.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit

The Next Level
4 September 2001
  • Excerpt: The Game Boy Advance has done nothing but impress me since it was released. The games have looked great and have been just as fun to play. The latest effort from Nintendo comes in the form of Mario Kart: Super Circuit -the third title in the Mario Kart series. Skepticism that a kart game based on two console counterparts could be just as good on a portable was a big thought on my mind.

Expert Review

  • Excerpt: In spite of a lamentable lack of backlighting, the cheap, super-selling GameBoy Advance is still the coolest little handheld game machine on the planet. While the device itself verges on frail and flimsy, games like Mario Kart: Super Circuit makes it worth its weight in gold.
