Pros & Cons

  • spot on golf play, seemingly endless gameplay, unsurpassable multiplayer support, polished mechanics, rpg sensibility actually works

Mario Golf: Advance Tour is a great game, and it's arguably the best multiplayer experience on the Game Boy Advance. The golf game is easy to pick up and has enough depth to keep players coming back for more with both the traditional and fantasy-themed courses. Golf game veterans may be a bit intimidated with Advance Tour's charm, but in the end, the game remains to be an enjoyable experience for any gamer whether or not they're a fan of the game of golf. 2. Mario Golf Advance Tour

    10 October 2004

After some initial doubts I finally had to accept that a role-playing golf game made sense. Mario Golf Advance Tour (MGAT) is foremost a golf game with the usual suspects and golf modes accounted for, but the bulk of the game and the only way to unlock courses and characters is to golf through the Story mode. You pick a golfer and choose the most basic of attributes then proceed to the Marion Golf Club to be taught by the masters, challenge other golfers, complete... Read more

Mario Golf is another great mash-up of genres from Camelot. The basic golf game is well-done and fun (even to someone like me who doesn't care for golf), and the RPG character-building aspects are extremely satisfying. The biggest annoyance of the game is the sheer amount of text from in-game characters. But that's only a quibble - highly recommended. Read more

If you want a good fun game you can pick up and put down as you please, this game is for you. It has quick play and an in-depth story mode. The actual golf play is pretty realistic, better than I thought it would be for a Mario game. The game is tricky and seems to have plenty of scope for a reasonable life span. There seems to be no bugs with the game and everything runs smooth. Overall.. a 5/5 buy!!! Read more
