Excerpt: The Harvest Moon series has had several forays on the Game Boy systems, with three for the GB/GBC, and one for the GBA. It is the type of game that works very well on a portable system: it can be picked up, played for a few minutes (or a few hours), and then saved and put away for another time.
Excerpt: Nothing in life is free; no pain, no gain. Keep these quotes in mind when turning on Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for the very first time. Instead of the usual ‘fight/maim stuff for experience’, players have to grind it ‘the country way’, performing backbreaking tasks such as land cultivating, seed planting and, of course, harvesting. It’s in the name.
Excerpt: You're back on the farm...again! In what is Natsume's fifth Harvest Moon release, you are once more taking care of a farm while trying to balance your budget, social life, and even the respect of elves.
Excerpt: Let me start off by saying that I
haven't played any previous Harvest Moon games and I am not comparing
this to any of them. Also, allow me to state that never in a million
years would I have dreamed that this concept would ever be "fun". I
played Animal Crossing which people said was a lot like Harvest Moon
minus the farming. It's not. Animal Crossing is neither fun nor is it
anywhere near as deep as this game.
Excerpt: To say that Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town is unlike any other RPG or simulation game currently available on the Game Boy Advance would be an understatement. After you pop in the cartridge, a brief cinematic explains that an old man has died and willed you his farm. Your goal for the rest of the game is to sow fields, grow crops, and raise livestock.
Conclusion: A great game unlike anything else on the GBA at the moment; and it really does offer some involving gameplay through the clever use of button layout. This is certainly one to try out for all of the depth it offers, not to mention the amount of gametime you will get out of it.
Conclusion: Men man förlorar sig lätt i myset.
