Fire Emblem

Portable Review
23 October 2005
 • Excerpt: Whether or not you're a portable gaming fan, it's likely that you've at least heard of Advance Wars or it's update, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. The very same people who made that game what it is, have worked their magic with Fire Emblem. This time, the strategy aspect of the game is on an entirely different level. No longer do you feel as if your units are expendable. All of the characters or units are invaluable.

 • Excerpt: Fire Emblem, for those unaware, is a strategy RPG series from Nintendo of Japan. Most US gamers got their first exposure to it through certain characters featured in Smash Bros fighting games. It's well known for being a somewhat brutal franchise because if any of your characters die in a mission, they die for good.

Fire Emblem (GBA)

The Review Busters
16 March 2005
 • Conclusion: I might have talked a lot about the games harder features in here, but you need to know what you are getting into before you play Fire Emblem. The game is challenging, even today I struggle at certain stages. If you can beat this game then you shouldn’t have any problems playing other strategy games. There is a reason why RPG fans pays more than they should for this game; it really is a damn good video game.

Fire Emblem

Nintendo World Report
15 March 2004
 • Summary: For the first time in gaming history, there is a legal copy of Fire Emblem in English. And the people rejoiced.
 • Pros: Addictive SRPG gameplay, Animation options that should be standard in any SRPG, Good cast of characters and engaging story, It’s Fire Emblem… in ENGLISH.
 • Cons: Auto-save can become annoying, though it helps prevent cheating, Simply too easy for anyone who has played Fire Emblem before, Unit sprites and battle maps could be nicer
