Before Squaresoft, and Enix merged Squaresoft did not release all of the Final Fantasy games in America, thus the numbering got off. This RPG (role playing game) is considered one of the classics by many. For those unfamiliar with what a role playing game is - it is a longer video game that tells a story. The player tries to save the fantasy world from a great evil.
